First Class Power Engineers Examination

February 28, 2007 was the end of the 6-month transition period for starting to write the 1st Class Power Engineer’s examinations under the Old syllabus format.

Examination candidates who have not successfully completed at least one examination paper under the Old syllabus will only be able to write their examinations under the Revised syllabus.

Examination candidates who have successfully completed at least one examination paper under the Old syllabus will be able to continue to write their examinations, under that syllabus, up to end of August 2011.  On September 1, 2011, examinations under the Old 1st Class syllabus will no longer be available.

Examination candidates, who have successfully completed examination papers under the Old syllabus, can switch to the Revised syllabus at any time.  However, due to the differences between the two syllabi, the candidates will lose all the examination papers that they have successfully passed and will have to write all the papers under the Revised syllabus.
